She also gave us coupons for our next visit, and even teased some information for me about what some other rooms are like. She offered to take our picture when we finished and even let us pose in the room itself. She was super friendly and funny, and she all around made my experience there so much better. Lastly, I want to say thank you so much to Megg, who was our game master both times that I went. Also, the props were all of much higher quality than I have seen at other locked rooms. I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling anything, but I was literally blown away by how cool some of the mechanics of the rooms worked. The visual design and engineering in the rooms was spectacular. Part of this feedback was made possible by the amazing set pieces that were used.

When we did ask for a hint, I always experienced the good "D'oh! It's so obvious in retrospect" rather than the frustrating, " Well how could I possibly have thought of that." Furthermore, the puzzles did a great job of providing feedback so you could tell if you solved them or not. The puzzles themselves created the illusion of being easier than other rooms that I have done, but that was only because they were incredibly well designed and did not require any extravagant leaps of logic. The rooms actually did an amazing job of immersing me and I felt like the puzzles made sense in the world I was presented rather than just being randomly scattered passwords and math equations that happened to open a lock that is arbitrarily strapped to a cheesy fake skeleton. At this location, however, the puzzles did not feel contrived at all and in fact fit the theme of the room in incredibly satisfying ways that I cannot fully explain without spoiling the rooms. In many escape rooms, the puzzles feel like math/logic puzzles ripped out of a book and just shoved into a room with a bunch of keys. I have done two rooms: "Hipster Hangover" and "the Sinister Study" and both were a million times better than any other escape room that I had done in the past. I have done quite a few escape rooms around the city at different locations and I have had my best experiences by far at this location.
