The next big thing Vedant has been approached by a leading publishing house to write a series of books on healthy diet. The former is made with a special variety of cheese called ‘quark’ that is much healthier and now easily available in India. Vedant’s favourite ones include two recipes – Cheesecake and Chia seed pudding. This doesn’t reflect in the book though as it has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes. On being asked about his food preferences Vedant said that he is a die-hard non-vegetarian. The book launch of Cheat It All, which took place last week in Saket, Delhi was a much awaited day. Vedant said that the publishing process itself took more than a year with multiple rounds of editing, additions and deletions. How everything fell in place It wasn’t easy and nor was it quick. And briefly, this is what led to Cheat It All. Just being on the verge of becoming obese, he decided that he needs to come up with a healthier route to the food he couldn’t let go. This led to Vedant putting on a lot of weight. Vedant started writing a cooking blog titled The Foodie Journey. With his increasing passion for cooking, the house’s pantry was converted into a kitchen. This precisely led to an author-in-making. As convinced as Vedant was to bake it, he did so in a dhokla pan that was available in his house.

One fateful day, Vedant was stuck on the recipe of the Dutch apple cake that was prepared in the show. On being asked what led to the book The show Rachel Allen Bake is to credit for turning of the tide in Vedant’s life. Following are a few excerpts from a conversation with Vedant: On being asked why one should read Cheat It All Vedant said that the book is for all those who love food, love cooking or either.

Cheat It All is for all those who cannot stop themselves to barge in the new pizza cafe in the town, providing them with cheat codes to all their favourite recipes. He, philosophically, calls it a “way of life”. Having just launched his first book, Cheat It All, at the age of 18, Vedant believes that fitness is not about following the popular fitness fads or adhering to a strict diet for a month. But guess what, you don’t have to anymore! Or so says probably the youngest author of the world – Vedant Bahri. It is indeed a real struggle to abstain from the mouth-watering choley bhature, or a cheese burst margherita.
